Setting Intentions for 2026

The final New Moon of 2025 arrives in Sagittarius on Saturday 20 December: adventurous, expansive, truth-seeking energy and is a powerful time to cast our visions for the year ahead.
This is cosmic energy that gives us the willingness to desire boldly and to trust your body's yes even when your mind says ‘but how?’
As we begin to close out one year and step into the next, this New Moon asks:
What are you truly ready for?
Most New Year intentions are made in the mind: we think about what we need to achieve, making lists that sound good but don't actually make us feel alive.
In Tantric work, we approach intention-setting differently.
We ask ourselves:
What does my body want?
What makes me feel most alive?
The body knows the difference between a goal that's supposed to be impressive and a vision that actually lights you up from the inside and this Sagittarius New Moon invites us to trust that knowing.
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and freedom and real freedom is embodied.
In Tantric philosophy, we understand that true freedom comes from being fully in our body because when we're connected to our body's wisdom, we stop living by everyone else's rules and start living by felt knowing.
So as you set intentions for 2026, ask:
What would I call in if I trusted my body completely?
What am I ready to release?
What does freedom feel like in my body?
Here's a simple ritual to close out 2025 and call in 2026.
Heading: New Moon Ritual
Create some space by lighting a candle. Sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths to land in your body.
Now, we will reflect on 2025. Take your journal and write freely, with whatever comes to mind as you answer these questions.
What did this year teach me?
What experiences am I grateful for?
What am I ready to release as we close out this year?
Then shift your attention to the year ahead and write 3-5 intentions you're calling in. Think about how you want to feel rather than what you want to be.
Close the ritual with gratitude and thank yourself for showing up as you blow out the candle.
Keep your intentions somewhere visible and revisit them monthly in the year ahead: notice what's shifting, what's growing and what needs tending to.
With love,
Pauline
