Gemini Full Moon: Intimacy Begins With Honesty

The Gemini Full Moon illuminates the spaces between words: what we say, what we don't say, and all the truth that lives in the silence and creates space between us and our lovers. 

Gemini is the constellation of the twins, of duality, of two different perspectives, both equally true, both equally whole. 

This is the energy we bring to relationships: when two people come together they are each two separate wholes with their own ideas, perspectives, thoughts, beliefs, attachments. Of course these will come up against each other from time to time: we collide, we overlap, we shape each other. 

This is polarity in action, of two spirits dancing with each other to create the third thing. But polarity without honesty will never meet your depth.

And I've seen this so many times, holding space for bodies, for hearts, for individuals, for couples: we spend so much energy managing how we're perceived, making ourselves acceptable and easy for the other person. Then we wonder why the connection feels shallow and why it doesn't quite land in the way we would like it to. 

True intimacy, the kind where polarity becomes creation instead of collision, requires a kind of radical honesty. And that always begins with our own reflection.

So take a moment to sit with yourself in sacred silence, and ask yourself:

• What do I desire?

• What am I afraid to want?

• What am I afraid to say?

• Where am I hiding, even from my own heart?

Try not to rush past these questions and let them settle while the answers come to you.

The Throat Chakra: Where Our Truth Lives

Gemini is ruled by Mercury and governs the throat chakra, the energy centre of our truth, our expression, our voice.

The throat chakra sits between the heart and the head: the meeting point where what we feel and what we think are invited into conversation.

When the throat chakra is open, there’s a flow to how we communicate or express ourselves. Our words land like we want them to and we speak from a deeper place or truth. When this energy centre is blocked or stagnant, we may feel that familiar feeling where you know what you want to say, but can’t bring yourself to say it. 

This Full Moon is the perfect time to clear that blockage and to speak what's been sitting unspoken.

The Initiation of the Full Moon

Once you've named your truths to yourself, the next initiation is speaking it into the world, which is always the vulnerable part.

We sometimes think that speaking what we’ve been hiding means risking rejection or judgement. But that is the divine paradox at the heart of true intimacy: the very thing that makes us vulnerable is what creates real connection.

When we start to talk honestly with those in our lives, we truly get to know each other’s real edges and in turn, we meet ourselves more fully.
